Thank you for your interest in hosting your event at Yards Park!
For Birthdays, Casual Picnics, or Small Parties:
If you are inquiring about a small event (25 people or less) or child’s birthday party in which no vendors (e.g. caterers, entertainment, etc.) are used and no alcohol is served, no form or reservation is necessary. You will have access to areas around the canal, waterfall and surrounding green space on a first come, first serve basis. We will no longer be posting birthday parties on our events calendar because there is no reservation process. Please review the Park Rules & Procedures, and check the Events Calendar to see if your desired area is available, so you can make your plans accordingly.
For all other Events (i.e. events open to the public, private parties, weddings, etc.):
There are three steps in the Event Proposal process.
1. Read The Yards Park Event Rules and Regulations, which state the rules for reserved events in the park. This will help you determine if your event is the right fit for The Yards Park. If so, please print, initial where indicated, and sign this document, to be submitted with your Event Proposal Form.
2. Due to our high volume of inquiries, you must complete and submit the appropriate Event Proposal Form (found on the Forms & Resources page) to Lyndsey@capitolriverfront.org. (Note: This is the only permissible method for submitting an application. No in-person submissions will be accepted.) This process is necessary for quick processing and an accurate estimate that is specific to your needs. Estimated fees will only be given after submitting a complete Event Proposal Form. The fee for your event is determined by the following, among other considerations:
Type of Event: Corporate, commercial, promotional, wedding, public, non-profit, other
Length of Time: Amount of time from load-in to load-out.
Park Use: How the event will impact the park’s systems and public use.
Scope of Event: What type of large structures or elaborate set-up is required for event.
Note: Discounted rates are applied for non-profit events, events open to the public, and events during the week.
3. You will receive a response within 3-5 business days after submitting the form. (Again, we cannot provide an estimated fee for the event without a complete Event Proposal Form.) If the reservation process moves forward, an on-site walkthrough with a Yards Park Events Team member will be scheduled. The original proposal can be updated after the walkthrough if logistical concerns arise. Once an agreement is reached, a contract will be issued. Reservations are not guaranteed until the contract is signed and fees are paid.
